MY STORY

Growing up in Ukraine, writing was never the focus of my education. I was always pushed to focus on math and sciences, and the intricacies of the use of language was never enforced. When I moved to the U.S. eight years ago, I was introduced to a whole new system that allowed me to express myself in a creative manner.

I explored writing while in high school, but my true passion for research, journalistic writing, and opinion pieces came into play in college. For the last two years I have been writing for my college newspaper, The College Reporter, and Copy Editing pieces written by others. I have also recently interned with The Borgen Project, which allowed me to further explore my journalistic abilities. The focus of my pieces has often been on refugees, minorities, and environmental issues, as to me these issues are most important.
